POSITION SUMMARY: 
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Human Resources. This executive leader will 
be responsible for developing and reinforcing programs that foster a high-performance culture, 
strengthen leadership capabilities, and ensure the organization has the talent, structure, and skills to 
support its mission. In addition to traditional HR leadership and management responsibilities, this role will 
champion learning and development and workforce capability building.

The Vice President of Human Resources is a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the 
Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer and providing strategic vision and leadership across all 
aspects of HR for Holy Childhood and Special Touch Bakery, Inc. This individual will help develop a 
culture where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow, while ensuring excellence in all 
areas of HR management including talent development, culture-building, employee relations, 
compliance, benefits, payroll, and organizational effectiveness. 

While the Vice President of Human Resources will be a strategic and forward-thinking leader, they must
be hands-on in all aspects of the HR organization, and accountable for building and implementing 
systems and programs that make the organization an employer of choice — fostering engagement, 
professional growth, and organizational resilience.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Culture
• Partner with the President/CEO, CFO/COO and other senior leadership to develop and 
implement people strategies aligned with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic goals.
• Champion a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture that supports employee wellbeing, development, and retention.
• Lead initiatives that position Holy Childhood and Special Touch Bakery as employers of choice 
within the community and sector in which they operate.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all aspects of HR, inclusive of compliance, 
employee relations, performance, organizational design, workforce planning, and succession 
planning.


Employee Development & Engagement
• Design and oversee comprehensive leadership development, succession, and career-pathing 
programs to ensure long-term organizational strength.
• Partner with managers to foster a culture of continuous feedback, coaching, and high 
performance.
• Build and implement leadership development, management training, and employee learning 
programs that enhance performance and engagement
• Oversee employee engagement efforts, including recognition programs, employee events, and 
culture-building initiatives.
• Conduct employee exit interviews and analyze trends to proactively address opportunities for 
organizational improvement.


HR Operations & Compliance
• Provide oversight of all HR functions, including benefits, payroll, compensation, talent acquisition, 
and employee relations.
• Mentor and develop the HR team to support HR strategy execution and organizational success.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Oversee and update the Employee Handbook and ensure consistent policy application across the 
organization.
• Serve as primary contact for Payroll/HRIS systems and oversee vendor relationships.
• Act as Plan Administrator for the Agency’s 403(b) Retirement Plan and ensure compliance with 
all related regulations and filings.


Talent Acquisition & Retention
• Guide and support recruitment strategies to attract diverse, mission-driven, and highly qualified 
candidates.
• Oversee onboarding programs to ensure a welcoming and successful transition for new 
employees.
• Partner with managers to identify staffing needs and build workforce pipelines aligned with longterm goals.
• Oversee compensation, benefits, and total rewards strategies to attract and retain top talent.


Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team to ensure excellence in service delivery, accountability, 
and professional growth.
• Lead performance management and leadership development programs.
• Serve as staff liaison to the HR Committee of the Board of Directors and provide input to other 
board committees as needed.
• Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations, conflict resolution, and 
performance management and employee development.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 
Candidates for this position will have:

 
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, 
or related field required; Master’s degree and/or HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) strongly 
preferred.
• Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including experience in a 
senior HR leadership role.
• Demonstrated success in building positive workplace cultures and advancing employee 
engagement and development initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance requirements.
• Experience overseeing payroll, benefits administration, HRIS, and retirement plans.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all 
levels of the organization.
• Strategic thinker with hands-on ability to plan, execute and manage complex projects.
