This is a hands-on, growth-oriented role where you’ll support the full employee life cycle—from recruitment and onboarding to benefits, payroll, compliance, and culture initiatives. You’ll work directly with our HR leadership and have the opportunity to contribute to projects while honing your HRIS and data management skills. This position is fully on site and will require travel to Ventura, CA.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide guidance and service to employees, focusing on recruitment and benefit administration, policy interpretation, leave of absence, and workers compensation administration.
  • Serve as the administrator for all HR systems, ensuring data integrity between various HR, payroll, and performance management systems. Responsible for employee changes, updates to workflows, procedures, and on-going maintenance. Will support in the implementation and transition to new systems and/or integrations, including working with internal & external partners to ensure continuity of data.
  • Responsible for all matters relating to the documentation, enrollment and maintenance of the health benefits, COBRA, Leaves of Absence and Workers’ Compensation insurance. Including coordinating paperwork, tracking, and answering employee and manager questions.
  • Responsible for creating and updating HR metrics and analytical reports relating to all areas of HR. Will provide support for ad hoc report requests by members of management.
  • In collaboration with the other HR Generalist, may support in full cycle recruitment, including sourcing resumes, sending offers, and preparing start date items and communications. Prepare and deliver orientation sessions for new employees, covering company policies and employee benefits.
  • Serve as backup to the payroll functions, processing payroll, manual checks, respond to unemployment and state disability claims, and perform the monthly benefit recon process, as needed.
  • Assists with the maintenance and compliance of labor relations, employee relations, equal employment opportunity, and diversity, retention and compensation programs. Helps ensure current policies, procedures, and associated actions are in compliance.  Maintain all reports, posters and related communications required by local, State, and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Supports with the coordination of employee engagement and morale building programs, including facilitating large on/offsite events (gather guest speaker presentations, venue/catering, setup etc.).

 

What We’re Seeking

  • 2-4 years of progressive HR experience, including HRIS familiarity.
  • Working knowledge of HR best practices and CA employment laws.
  • Must be proficient in computer systems (Microsoft Office) and comfortable working with multiple systems.
  • Associate’s degree or 2 years of college level coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.

  • Working knowledge with an HRIS, specifically UKG Ready. Including active participation in system enhancements, implementations, or integrations.
  • SHRM/PHR Certification or desire to pursue an HR certification.
