The City of Buena Park is seeking an individual willing to gain experience in supporting the Human Resources functions of the City's Human Resources/Risk Management Department. This position includes career development such as preparing and proctoring recruitment exams, attending job fairs, filing and answering phones, and so much more. This person may also perform basic research for special projects, in addition to performing day-to-day HR tasks such as recruitment and personnel file maintenance. The ideal candidate for this position is a multi-tasker, highly organized, detailed oriented, and can handle a high volume work load. The City works a 4/10 schedule Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This part-time position is expected to work 20-30 hours per week.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent and six months of office administrative support experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Experience in Human Resources is highly desirable. Municipal experience is highly desirable. Human Resources Certification or a degree in Human Resources may substitute for the required work experience.
