Human Resources Manager
Trillium is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking HR Manager to lead our HR team and shape the company's HR strategy. This role will be responsible for driving employee engagement, fostering a culture of accountability, and ensuring compliance and operational excellence. The HR Manager will develop and implement HR initiatives that align with Trillium's long-term business objectives, with a strong focus on employee relations, benefits administration, compensation strategy, and compliance.
This position plays a critical role in influencing change, optimizing HR processes, and guiding leadership in workforce strategy. The HR Manager will provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership to the HR team, ensuring seamless execution of HR operations across all Trillium locations. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong HR generalist foundation, experience in investigations, compensation planning, and employee engagement, and the ability to drive organizational effectiveness.
This is an on-site role based in Canton, MA, with travel to other Trillium locations as needed.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the Trillium HR team, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of HR programs, processes, and compliance initiatives across all Trillium locations, while proactively identifying opportunities for new or enhanced programs to support business growth and workforce needs.
- Drive the strategy and execution of Trillium's leadership development programs, ensuring they evolve to meet organizational goals, foster leadership growth, and support long-term business success.
- Act as a strategic HR partner to senior leadership, providing insight and recommendations on HR-related matters.
- Partner with leaders to address employee relations issues; identify appropriate training and/or coaching opportunities and follow-up to ensure effective, legally compliant, and consistent resolutions are reached
- Develop and execute employee engagement and recognition strategies that foster a positive workplace culture.
- Oversee the annual employee engagement survey, analyze results, develop and implement action plans for continuous improvement.
- Partner with leadership on salary benchmarking, compensation analysis, and budget adherence to maintain pay equity and competitiveness.
- Manage and maintain the company 401(k) plan, including compliance, annual census and audits, as well as employee education initiatives.
- Administer and track all Leave of Absence (LOA) requests, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while acting as the main point of contact for employees on leave.
- Manage unemployment claims, ensuring accurate and timely responses
- Ensure the handbooks' policies, procedures and standards are maintained, revised as needed, and followed in a consistent and fair manner across the organization
- Support leadership in performance management and coaching initiatives, ensuring employees receive meaningful feedback and development.
- Oversee performance management initiatives ensuring clear expectations and accountability across teams.
- Support HR process improvements, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency.
- Travel to other Trillium locations as needed to provide on-site HR support
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary
Desired Qualifications & Abilities
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum five years of solid HR generalist experience
- Experience working as an HR partner for multiple locations and/or client groups required
- Experience managing and successfully leading a team required
- Strong background in employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Experience with HRIS systems and data-driven decision-making
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of Massachusetts and federal employment laws required
- Organized and efficient with great attention to detail
- Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
